Terms of Adoption

PixelPet — a product of Uncertified (uncertified.in)
Welcome to PixelPet! These Terms of Adoption (“Terms”) govern your adoption of a digital pet and your use of the PixelPet website and desktop application (the “Service”), operated by uncertified.in (“PixelPet”, “we”, “us”). By signing in and adopting a pet, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be 18 or older to create an account. If you are under 18, your parent or lawful guardian must create the account with their own email, provide verifiable consent under the DPDP Act, and supervise your use.
• One account per person. Keep access to your sign-in email secure — it is your only way to log in (passwordless OTP).
• Give accurate information where required; you may correct it anytime from your dashboard.

3. Adoption plans & what you get

• Free: adopt from the free species catalog and use core features.
• Basic (₹79 one-time): unlocks core customization and additional species.
• Pro (₹149 one-time): everything in Basic plus pro-only species, palettes, and productivity integrations.
• All paid plans are lifetime licences for the current product generation — a one-time payment, not a subscription.
• Displayed prices are inclusive of applicable taxes.

4. Your licence & seats

• A successful purchase issues a unique licence key. Entering it in the desktop client activates a seat.
• Each licence allows up to 2 seats (devices) for your personal use. You can deactivate a device yourself anytime to free a seat.
• Licences are personal: don’t sell, sublicense, share keys beyond your seats, or publish them.
• The desktop client verifies licence tokens offline using cryptographic signatures; tampering with verification is prohibited.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI, or banking credentials. On successful capture we issue your licence key automatically; if anything fails on our side after your payment, contact support with your Razorpay payment ID and we will resolve it.

6. Refunds & cancellation

• Digital licences are generally non-returnable once activated, but we honour a full refund within 7 days of purchase if the licence has not been activated.
• If a paid feature is unusable due to our fault and we cannot fix it within 15 days of your report, you may claim a refund of that purchase.
• Nothing here limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and applicable rules.

7. Acceptable use

• No harassment, hate speech, sexual content, or illegal material in pet names or buddy-chat messages.
• No attempts to exploit bugs, bypass seat limits, scrape the platform, disrupt service, or reverse-engineer except as permitted by law.
• We may moderate user-chosen content (names, messages) and suspend accounts for violations, with notice where practicable.

8. Ownership

The pixel art, code, designs, and brand of PixelPet belong to us or our licensors. You own the pets you customise as configurations of the Service and the content you write (messages), and you grant us only the licence needed to store, render, and deliver them within the Service.

9. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep pets happy and servers up, but the Service is provided “as is” during its early life. Features may evolve; if we ever discontinue something substantial that a paid plan depends on, we will give reasonable advance notice.

10. Disclaimers & liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties not stated above.
• Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (for free plans: ₹100).
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost data on your device, lost profits, etc.).

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by Indian law. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through the Grievance Officer before approaching the appropriate courts of competent jurisdiction.

12. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service anytime; you can also request account deletion per the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms (e.g. key abuse or conduct violations), giving notice and an opportunity to remedy where reasonable.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes are published here with a new version number and take effect at your next sign-in, where you’ll be asked to accept the updated version before continuing. Continued use of an already-adopted pet under an older version is governed by that version until you re-consent.
